Youtube スクリプト: Ottawa VLOG

Hi guys!!

Today I will show you around Ottawa, the capitol of Canada

今日は皆さんにカナダの首都、オタワをお見せします

A lot of people think Toronto is the capitol, but it’s not

トロントが首都やと思う人いっぱいいるけど、違います

And Ottawa is also the place I was born!

あと、オタワは私が生まれた場所です！

My sister, Melody was born here as well

姉のメロディーもここで生まれました

But shortly after I was born, we moved to Vancouver

でも私が生まれてすぐに、バンクーバーへ引っ越しました

Ottawa is also my father’s hometown

オタワは私の父の故郷でもあります

He was born in London, England but moved here when he was 5 years old

彼はロンドン生まれだけど５歳の時にこっちへ引っ越しました

And this is where he met my mother

ここで母とも出会いました

So I was thrilled to finally revisit my birthplace after all these years

なので、自分が生まれた場所にもう一度訪れることができて、とてもワクワクでした

And the best part was my dog was travelling with me!

そして何よりも、愛犬と旅ができているのが最高です！

Anyways, the first place we went to was the Parliament Hill

まずは、パーラメントへ行きました

It’s located in downtown so it was very easy to get here by bus from the airbnb I was staying at

ダウンタウンにあるので、泊まっているエアビからバスでとても簡単に行けました

Luckily, it was very sunny

幸いなことに、とても晴れていました

The day I was filming this, Queen Elizabeth passed away

これを撮影していた日はエリザベス女王が亡くなった日なんですよね

It was so sad to hear the news

とても悲しいニュースでした

And later on that day, I saw that the Canadian flag on top of the Parliament had been lowered

その日、少し時間が経って見上げたら、パーラメントの上にあるカナダの国旗の位置が下げられていた

Lowering the flag is a sign of respect.

旗を下げることで敬意を示しています

It is called “half-mast”

”Half-mast”っていいます

Lowering the flag traditionally signals that the country or a state is in mourning.

旗を下げることは、その国や州が喪中という意味

After walking around the Parliament, we　went to a souvenir shop

パーラメントの周辺を歩いたあと、お土産やさんに行きました

It was really neat and everything was so Canadian

何もかもカナダっぽくて、いい感じでした

Well no shit. I’m in Canada

まぁ当たり前だよね、今カナダにいるんやし

It’s funny though, even though there are so many souvenirs to choose from

面白いことにね、これだけ沢山お土産あるけど

I’d still probably buy maple syrup for a souvenir

きっと、お土産として買うのはメープルシロップだろう

The dream catchers are pretty cool but I don’t think I would use one

ドリームキャッチャーいい感じだけど、多分使わないと思うんよね

Because I take melatonin

私はメラトニンを摂っているから

And I don’t think dreamcatchers are gonna stop me from having nightmares that the melatonin gives me

ドリームーキャッチャーはメラトニンによる悪夢は止められないと思う

After resting a bit, we headed to the flower shop to get flowers

少し休んだあと、お花を買うためにお花屋さんへ向かった

Where are we going?

どこへ行くかって？

We are visiting my grandmother and my uncle’s grave

おばあちゃんとおじさんのお墓へ行きます

My grandma passed away 5 years ago

祖母は５年前に亡くなリマした

Sadly, I didn’t really know her

悲しいことにあんまり祖母のことを知らなかった

We share the same birthday, meaning she is Sag just like me, so she must’ve been a badass like me

私たちは同じ誕生日！ということはおばあちゃんも射手座、つまり私みたいにイケてたってことね

My uncle, Mark passed away before I was born but apparently, Mark and I looked very much similar

叔父のマークは私が生まれる前に亡くなってしまった、マークと私はとても似ていたらしい

My mom always told me how I had Mark’s eyes

母がいつも、私はマークと同じ目を持っていると言っていた

I wish I could’ve met him

会いたかったな

“A life lived in fear, is a life only half lived”

「怖いと思うながら生きる人生は、半分生きたとしか言えない

I think a lot of us can relate to that

この言葉に共感できる方、多いのではないかなと思います

The fear of failure is what stops us from trying new things

失敗を恐れるから、私たちは新しいことに挑みにくい

But I’d rather challenge myself than wondering what could’ve happened if I tried

私は「あの時やってみたらどうなってたんだろう」って思うくらいなら、挑戦したい

I said goodbye to my grandma and uncle

おばあちゃんと叔父さんにお別れをして

And headed back to downtown for dinner

夜ご飯のためにダウンタウンに戻りました

On the way to the restaurant, I walked by the library my parents met

レストランへ行く道、両親が出会った図書館の前を歩きました

For dinner, I am eating pizza at this place called “Colonade“

夜ご飯は“Colonade“というピザ屋さんで食べます

I’m sorry I pronounced that wrong

発音間違えっていたらすみません

I don’t know how to pronounce the name of the restaurant

レストランの名前、なんて発音するのかわからない

Apparently, when we lived here as a family, we would go to this restaurant often

家族でここに住んでいたとき、ここのレストランへよく来たみたいです

It’s quite fascinating, the fact that I am sitting at a restaurant that I used to go to when I was a baby

中々すごいよね、赤ちゃんの頃によく行っていたレストランに今きているって

I ordered a pizza with pepperoni, Italian salami, and anchovies

ペパロニ、サラミ、そしてアンチョビのピザを注文した

Anchovies on pizza, is a game changer

アンチョビとピザは革命的

Please try it if you’ve never tried it before

試したことない人はぜひ試してください

I swear, it is by far the best combination ever

マジで、最高な組み合わせなので

I don’t understand how some people like pineapple on their pizza

パイナップルとピザを好む人、マジで理解できん

Like, what planet are you from?

どの惑星出身なん？

I could never be friends with someone who likes pineapple on their pizza

パイナップルとピザ、好きな人とは友達になれん

Just kidding.

No, I will not judge you even if you like pineapple on pizza

ピザの上にパイナップル乗っけるのが好きでも、偏見持たないよ

This is Byward Market

ここは、Byward Market

It’s a compact area with lots of restaurants and pubs

レストランとパブが沢山ある、コンパクトなエリアです

I heard that in the winter, it’s really pretty with all the snow

冬になると、雪でとても綺麗になるらしい

I’m guessing this is the place that people come to on Fridays and weekends for drinks

多分、みんな金曜日や土日はここに飲みに来るのかな

It really is a small area but I like the vibes, it’s nice

とても小さなエリアだけど雰囲気がいい感じで好き

After walking around Byward Market, Sora and I went to the park nearby

うろちょろした後、近くの公園にソラと行った

Well not nearby, it was like right next to Byword market

近くではないなぁ、真横だな

It was just the right time to see the sunset

夕陽を見るのにちょうどいい時間でした
